Sincere or Empty?

“This is the way God’s children are distinguished from the devil’s children. Everyone who doesn’t do what is right or love other believers isn’t God’s child” (1 John 3:10 God’s Word).

“Dear children, we must show love through actions that are sincere, not through empty words”
(1 John 3:18 God’s Word).

Love Isn’t Lazy

The fact remains true and indisputable that God saves us by divine kindness (grace) and not by anything we do to earn that blessing (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Disciplined Disciple

Today, thanks to brow-beating by non-believers, Christians think love equates to “polite nicety”. Discipline, correction and justice take a back seat to being just nice. So you get troublemakers in congregations who go on year after year because no one has the spiritual backbone to demand a stop to the injustice of gossip, manipulation and people who insist on “being in charge”.
