Approval

People can’t just tell their story. They want others to agree or follow the same choices. The telling of the story becomes a way to impose our opinions on others, and make them conform to our beliefs. Read more…

Gone by God

Isn’t it weird how hard we work to hold on to things which God has erased? Read more…

Wake-up Call to the Important Things

This is a part of an article I just read. It’s nothing new, in that sense, but it’s clarity and challenge need to be shared. Read more…

The Take-It-Or-Leave-It Gift

If you tried to repay me for a gift I gave to you, that would end up as a silly thing for you to do or an offense to me. Likewise, if I gave you a gift and you threw it against the wall and defiantly exclaimed that you didn’t want it and had no intention of using or keeping it my heart would break. Read more…

Get Me to the Right Place

I worked Sunday night shift. Monday morning my sleep was interrupted just after 10am (way too early). But my beloved (wife) informed me that she had just learned the brother in a family which has proven to be good friends over the years died. The funeral was to start in about half an hour. So I rushed around and made it to the funeral home, with no time to spare. Read more…

Carry On Christmas

I want to share a Merry Christmas to my blogging Community. This gives me a chance to say again how much value there is to me to have people from all over the world sharing faith in Jesus. So, to start with, hang in there. Read more…

Disciplined Disciple

Today, thanks to brow-beating by non-believers, Christians think love equates to “polite nicety”. Discipline, correction and justice take a back seat to being just nice. So you get troublemakers in congregations who go on year after year because no one has the spiritual backbone to demand a stop to the injustice of gossip, manipulation and people who insist on “being in charge”.

I read the Bible to say that if I really love people two things show up: Read more…

A Way to Pray for The Way

Last night I “happened” to read this verse. Paul writing to the followers of The Way in the Macedonian city of Thessalonika (incidentally so named after the sister of Alexander the Great) spoke by the Spirit and said, “With this in mind, we always pray that our God will make you worthy of his call. We also pray that through {his} power he will help you accomplish every good desire and help you do everything your faith produces” (2 Thessalonians 1:11 God’s Word).

Many things flooded into my mind when these words touched my eyes. Read more…
