Praise adds nothing to your holiness, nor does blame take anything from it. You are what you are, and you cannot be said to be better than you are in God’s sight. If you consider well what you are within, you will not care what people say about you. They look to appearances but God looks to the heart. They consider the deed but God weighs the motive.
(Thomas a Kempis, Imitation of Christ, Book 2, Chapter 6)

Scary, always, but encouraging that when the world dumps on us (or worse) but we are under God’s hand, the One Who really counts does say, “Well done”, even when it looks like we are down and out!
Peace

Yes, I took a journalism course a very long time ago and one of the teachings is to make notes of any ideas that come and work on them as thoughts develop. I’ve been doing that ever since!

So glad you found a congregation. Community is so important. I believe you recognize that. I hope that works out.
Wow, 4 dozen! Sounds interesting. Can’t wait!

Thanks for asking. No, I have not felt led to publish any columns, even though I am working on about 4 dozen. Reading has been a problem because I am following too many (all good) blogs. So work has interfered a little, that is true. We have found a congregation, by the grace of God alone, and that has also made it more difficult to keep up with my spirit companions of blogland. May your academy be fruitful for all involved!

David, you must have gotten busy on other things? Work? I am helping teach an academy during June for inner city children. It is very hot down here. I hope you are well.
