Some things about computers boggle the mind. If you type in a search it will correct spelling, change the order of words, anything to figure out what you want.
But if you input a web address and have the smallest element wrong it stops, says it can’t do what you have asked, demands that you check your facts, and if you get it right the computer will, then and only then, connect you.
This struck me. When God searches for the one lamb that is missing from the fold The Shepherd searches every possible place, uses every call and offers every incentive.
But once the lamb is safely in the fold, no leeway is condoned as to how to stay safe with that Shepherd.
No, I am not talking about the letter of the law. Instead I refer to what Jesus said.
“Don’t ever think that I came to set aside Moses’ Teachings or the Prophets. I didn’t come to set them aside but to make them come true. I can guarantee this truth: Until the earth and the heavens disappear, neither a period nor a comma will disappear from Moses’ Teachings before everything has come true. So whoever sets aside any command that seems unimportant and teaches others to do the same will be unimportant in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does and teaches what the commands say will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. I can guarantee that unless you live a life that has God’s approval and do it more faithfully than the scribes [theological academics and experts] and Pharisees [super-religious laypeople], you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:17-20 God’s Word©).
So, it is better to return to Jesus sheepish, than ram the wrong thing down people’s throats.

I’m sure your daughters love your “dad jokes” as we call them here!

Thanks. God made me very punny! Although when our daughters were growing up they would never have blamed God for that part of me! Hopefully humour can say better than a dramatic flair the deep truth I saw in this.
