Yesterday my wife and I drove our almost three-year-old granddaughter home after her six-day stay with us.

Highway 400 in Ontario during the summer cottage season, following a traffic collision. Traffic queued for several kilometres. North of Highway 89, facing south. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
Between heavy traffic and necessary stops the trip ended up being six hours. We all were saying, “Are we there yet?”
So today I drove home as Margaret gets to stay there for an extra week. On Highway 400 it took well over an hour to travel 7km (that’s only a little over one mile). By the time I got home I was overdone. The only thing that saved me was that I could feel Jesus doing some of the driving.
I cannot predict how long it will take just to drive home. I assure you I can’t predict anything about eternity!
All I know is God is love (1 John 4:8, 16).
And so I live to love back with all that I am (Deuteronomy 6:5).
I can handle that agenda. It’s simple.
Progress on achieving it requires further attention.

Thank you, but alas there’s a lot of work to be done on me yet.

She ate crackers, sang a bit, but no sleep. She did really well. The old folks on the other hand…
