Pre-Columbian history is a sideline of mine (my specialization was ancient Near East and Egypt) and my history-loving daughter and I went to see the remnants of the Empire of the Quechua (commonly misnamed Inca). I came away with a deep affection for modern Peru and delighted at the history we walked in and on.
