“What A Wonderful Change”

Last night I worked the last shift of the contract I’ve been under since September 2012. Since it was a construction contract it will never repeat. The wind turbines stand assembled across the zone. Soon these majestic giants will turn air movement into electricity. While they begin their working life, I go on to something else.

I cannot help but think of Paul writing about changes that occur spiritually. Read more…

Watch Out!

“He [Jesus ] asked them, ‘But who do you say I am?’
Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God!’
Jesus replied, ‘Simon, son of Jonah, you are blessed! No human revealed this to you, but my Father in heaven revealed it to you’ ” (Matthew 16:15-17 God’s Word). Read more…

God’s Good – Works

If you work and live for Jesus opposition will likely arise. Indeed, my counsel to the faithful I have met whose mission for God ended with religion’s brakes or agents of the devil’s shattering blows is simply that only when your faithfulness reaps a harvest does a target appear on your back. When a successful mission gets ripped away from you the message for you to hold close reads, “You had it right”.

My Choice Child

“Then he [Jesus] said to them, “I can guarantee this truth: Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever becomes like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3-4 God’s Word).

But Paul said, “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, and reasoned like a child. When I became an adult, I no longer used childish ways” (1 Corinthians 13:11 God’s Word). Read more…

Grow Up

We assemble with a small number of others as a house Church. I call it “Circle”.

Last night the question came about why so many people who self-identify as Christians not only refuse to discuss difficult questions of faith or answer why something is done the way it is in a denomination or congregation when the Bible says to do it another way, and why they even shut down those who dare to ask the hard questions. Loyal Endurance

While reading blogs restores me many times, at others I feel depleted. When I read how bloggers suffer personal trauma, spiritual upset caused by religious people and face lack of respect for the way God works in others, I no longer have my cyber escape route from those very things in my part of the world.

So, I muster what strength I can to bid peace and hope to those who have become friends through the gift of the internet. Read more…

Get Me to the Right Place

I worked Sunday night shift. Monday morning my sleep was interrupted just after 10am (way too early). But my beloved (wife) informed me that she had just learned the brother in a family which has proven to be good friends over the years died. The funeral was to start in about half an hour. So I rushed around and made it to the funeral home, with no time to spare. Read more…
