“Everyone will know that you are my disciples because of your love for each other” (John 13:35 God’s Word ©).
This pandemic has transformed some activities of Christ’s Church:
1) it has been reaching out more;
2) it has seen members humbled;
3) it has increased appreciation for each other.
But for some this pandemic has:
A) isolated them into close-minded ideology which they treasure more than the people of Jesus;
B) made too many overlook sins in their rush to create hero-idols;
C) turned up the heat of hate against those who have been relegated to enemies based solely on agreement with politics and rights rather than the Saviour of the world.
I am excited by the first set of transformations, but my soul aches in agony over the deep shadows the second set casts over the work of Christ.
May God save us from ourselves by an over-riding love for The Creator, because the world will know we are disciples of Jesus by our love for each other, not our claim to have omniscient opinions.
