I once was working a contract that was only 18 minutes from home – a real Godsend.

Sunrise at work with rain in the distance.

At one point at the main work site it had rained a lot and the yard was full of big puddles and mud. But at home we received merely driblets. That’s enough to refresh the plant leaves, but not enough to water the roots.

It seems odd that areas so close together would have such a difference in rainfall.

I stand awestruck at the variability in Divine action, matched by the variety of the earth and on the earth. God cannot be systematized or limited to human presumption.

Sometimes life will be dry as a desert. At other times the rains will wash our living like a flood.

And then there may be times when we just experience driblets.

Take it as it comes. The variations don’t mean God is absent. God is in it all.

“Whatever happens, give thanks, because it is God’s will in Christ Jesus that you do this” (1 Thessalonians 5:18 God’s Word ©).
