God works all things for good – but not ours! Things work out for those who love God and answer the divine call for the purpose that God has planned.

My Christmas Cactus flourished this year, just because…

“We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan” (Romans 8:28 God’s Word Translation©).

We are at war. Would a general give front-line troops a spa because they pledged loyalty or praised the leader’s prowess? Of course not, yet today a heresy pervades Christianity that following Jesus means we will get wealth and health and every good thing. Why would God feed our pleasures? Why would God provide for our leave from war instead of leading into the battle? We will never defeat evil by our prosperity. Jesus told the disciples to give up everything and follow. Jesus did NOT say, “Follow me and you get to keep everything you have and get even more!”

It’s time to stop the lies that size of faith is proven by personal comfort. Strong faith means seriously serving the Saviour. With that you may become a target for the devil and every demon within reach. The war is already won by Jesus, but battles in this life have to be fought. And battles are not fought by soldiers luxuriating in the comforts of the flesh.

It’s time people read books like “Pilgrim’s Progress” to identify the seductions of the enemy and the vulnerabilities of the flesh. Or they could read the Bible.

“I’ve told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you’ll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 God’s Word Translation©).
