So life took a little twist Tuesday. I was offered, and accepted, a full-time job for which I had not applied.

A site for which I was trained was taken over by a different security company. Since I wasn’t full time I just figured that was the end of that. But under the law the new company could hire me on, which they did.

On Friday my work life becomes predictable, which I haven’t had for years.

security-guard-1I will admit surprise also that the person signing me up said that the client manager had offered positive words about me. Now, I only met him infrequently. Of course, he may read the reports which are made every day, but even at that, I have only worked as vacation relief and sick call emergency relief. The person promoted to the position of security site supervisor also had kind words, apparently. I guess since she’s a farmer we had something in common. Again, I had only worked with her a very few times.

It comes as no surprise to those of us who walk by faith that this should happen. You see, family life has changed and now some predictability has become rather important. I never thought it would happen, and I did have fun with working as a float, but God knows all about us and this is a very kind act by Creator.

That also comes as no surprise.

My gratitude is too deep for words, and so this rather sketchy version of a profound and humbling spiritual experience is simply shared as an encouragement to all who might read this.

God’s timing is perfect. God’s mercy surpasses our hopes.

” ‘My thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways are not your ways,’ declares the Lord. Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts are higher than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9 God’s Word©).
