A lot of people claim God does not speak to people today. Others sit on the fence and say that God does speak, but not to them.

“Be careful that you do not refuse to listen when God speaks. Your ancestors didn’t escape when they refused to listen to God, who warned them on earth. We certainly won’t escape if we turn away from God, who warns us from heaven” (Hebrews 12:25 God’s Word©).

Well, God says God speaks.

Consider all the ways God spoke and it got recorded in the Bible. Dreams, heavenly messengers, prophets, miraculous events (like a burning bush), as a voice from the skies, as a whisper, on stone tablets, night voice (Speak, Lord, your servant listens), out of the mouths of babies, a talking jackass, visions, prayer and in conversation (Abraham’s discussion about saving Sodom). And let’s not forget the whole Bible speaks God’s words in a written form.

So, God speaks. Most often people don’t hear because they don’t listen. They don’t read the Bible. With music and TV and texting their mind never goes quiet.

So if you think God does not speak, remember that God does not go silent; it is you who needs to go silent.
