“We can reject the opportunity to be used of God, or we can seize opportunities to impact others as a testimony to Him…find a way to use your uncomfortable situation to point others to Him” (“Nearing Home: Life, Faith, and Finishing Well”, Billy Graham, 2011, pages 38, 40).
Okay, so Billy Graham writes here about how to live faithfully to your last breath, into and beyond retirement, but something in this quote begs for wide declaration.
Spend your time whining and complaining about how tough life is for you, the problems of age (or anything else), and people will avoid you.
Except, God did not give you life in order to turn so into yourself as to drive people away from God!
You cannot claim that you alone have aches and pains and troubles. Who rules your life, “your uncomfortable situation”, or Jesus Christ?
Even with your dying breath be an ambassador for the Good News, not your personal bad news.
It’s tough to do,
but real and true.
So what do you
point others to?
