Which one are you?
“A certain kind of person curses their father
and does not bless their mother.
A certain kind of person thinks they are pure
but are not washed from their own feces.
A certain kind of person looks around arrogantly
and is conceited.
A certain kind of person,
whose teeth are like swords
and whose jaws are {like} knives,
devours oppressed people from the earth and people from among humanity.”
(Proverbs 30:11-14 God’s Word, edited)
“Blessed is the person who does not
follow the advice of wicked people,
take the path of sinners,
or join the company of mockers.
Rather, they delight in the teachings of the Lord
and reflect on his teachings day and night.
They are like a tree planted beside streams—
a tree that produces fruit in season
and whose leaves do not wither.
They succeed in everything they do.
Wicked people are not like that.
Instead, they are like husks that the wind blows away.
That is why wicked people will not be able to stand in the judgment
and sinners will not be able to stand where righteous people gather.
The Lord knows the way of righteous people,
but the way of wicked people will end.”
(Psalm 1:1-6 God’s Word, edited)
