Today is July 1st, Canada Day. The ideals that Canada stands for make me proud. Ideals usually exceed practice, though.

And so I see good and bad. My experience both affirms some of the best that Canada means, but also the lapses and failures that cause discouragement.

In the end I do everything I can as a citizen to keep the good of Canada forefront. The Bible expects that (Romans 13:1-7). If the government demands something of me that requires disloyalty to Almighty God, then I pay the price to stand up faithfully for my Saviour and Judge (Acts 5:28-29).

Keeping the balance keeps a faithful Christian vigilant.

“…O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.”
